13-year-old Sasha has decided to become a stand-up comedian. More than anything, she wants to make her dad laugh—the same dad who cries in the shower when he thinks no one can hear. At home, everything reminds her of her mom, who is no longer alive, and behind her eyes, the dangerous tears are burning. But Sasha refuses to cry. In secret, she writes a list of everything she must do to survive the grief: shave her head, stop reading books, say no to the world’s cutest puppy, and most importantly, become a—Comedy Queen.
